The Atlantic region is facing a significant demographic shift, with a growing number of older adults, particularly from the baby boomer generation. While many seniors are enjoying longer, healthier lives at home, others will require additional support in the coming years. The current system is not equipped to meet the increasing and complex long-term care needs. Recognizing this, provinces like Nova Scotia are investing and rapidly expanding LTC facilities and designing healthcare environments tailored for seniors.

This conference will take a holistic look at the upcoming challenges by examining the tensions between funding, care models, LTC standards, IPAC considerations, and the goal of creating welcoming homes for seniors.
